Ahh summertime, we love the freedom that you bring but the release of kids from school inadvertently creates chaos and extra work for an already busy mom. Households simply do not run themselves. Reality Check! Moms instantly lose uninterrupted time to concentrate and work when kids are no longer at school. Therefore, summer schedules or lack thereof have an effect on a mom’s nervous system. Wide open schedules may feel good at first but some humans actually do much better with structure and routine.

Graduation and the end of school activities creates a lot of excitement. With my recent completion of a second degree in psychology, Spring 2025 has been a whirlwind of deadlines, parties and events. Without awareness, this transitional period to summer can lead to fatigue and depletion.
